For mini and small excavators, the most common method is container shipping. These machines are compact enough to fit into standard 20-foot or 40-foot containers, providing protection during transport and minimizing exposure to external elements. Container shipping is ideal for international customers as it offers a reliable and relatively affordable option.
For medium to large excavators, flat rack containers are often used. This method allows the excavator to be securely strapped down and transported without dismantling, making it convenient for the customer to receive a fully assembled machine, ready for operation.
In the case of oversized or heavy-duty excavators, roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) shipping is preferred. This method involves driving the machinery directly onto a specialized vessel, allowing for smooth loading and unloading. RoRo is particularly useful for large machines that exceed standard shipping dimensions or cannot be easily disassembled.
Lastly, for regions with limited port access, break bulk shipping may be employed. This method involves disassembling the excavator and shipping the parts separately. Though more time-consuming, break bulk shipping is often the best choice for delivering heavy equipment to remote areas.
